This newsletter will go out to you every two weeks with important updates so please keep an eye out. The College Corner will be related to the college application process, college & career events available in our community, vital scholarships and financial information, and a host of other things. Reminders
We have the CUNY Fee Waivers!!! If you did not submit your cuny, please come see us. It is critical that we submit it ASAP. The internal SUNY deadline has passed as of Thanksgiving but you are still welcome to apply. All applications need to be completed by December 23rd. We know this time is difficult so if you need extra support or time working on these applications, please reach out.
December is Private College month. If you are interested, create a Common Application account and start the application. Come to the office for guidance for support and do not submit without showing Ms. Capellan or Ms. Chowdhury.
If you have not submitted your FAFSA, please bring the proper documents ASAP and know the required information.

FAFSA requires a parent account to sign the form. You must create an account for a parent or retrieve the account if they have one. If we submitted your FAFSA using a paper signature and did not complete TAP, please look out for a "Processed successfully" email from the U.S. Department of Education. Once you receive that email, we can submit your TAP. Both applications are important to receive maximum financial aid. Scholarships 1) The Common App Scholarship - $2,000 Deadline: December 31st, 2022 To be eligible: A) Be in Grade 11 or Grade 12 B) Be attending college or university no later than October of 2024. C) Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year. 2) Live Mas Scholarship Program - $25,000 - 100 Awards Deadline: January 11, 2023 To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: A) Be on-track to apply for or enrolled in an accredited post-high school educational program. B) Be a legal resident of the 50 United States who is at least 16 years of age. Applications can be found by going to: https://studentscholarships.org/scholarship/16235/live_mas_scholarship_program 3) Diversity Advancement Scholarship - $20,000 - 2 Awards Deadline: January 20, 2023 To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: A) Be a high school student planning to enroll in a NAAB-accredited architecture degree program. B) Be a US citizen. Applications can be found by going to: https://studentscholarships.org/scholarship/12285/diversity-advancement-scholarship 4) The Children's Aid Scholarship - $1,000-5,000 Deadline: January 20th. To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: Be a high school senior, at the time of application submission. Intend to enroll in a post-secondary pathway full-time for the entire 2023-2024 academic year. Required Documents As part of your application, you must also upload the following documents:

A copy of your FAFSA Expected Family Contribution (EFC) or your FAFSA package if received
